Un viaggio splendido, che da Buenos Aires porta fino ad Ushuaia attraverso la Ruta 40, assaporando fino in fondo l\u2019idea del \u201cviaggio<\/em>\u201d. La prima parte nella Pampa meno conosciuta e meno turistica, \u00e8 quella che d\u00e0 di pi\u00f9 il piacere della scoperta. La seconda parte, (da San Carlos de Bariloche fino ad Ushuaia) \u00e8 pi\u00f9 turistica ma sempre sorprendente. E\u2019 la natura a dare spettacolo. E\u2019 un viaggio molto intenso, bisogna studiare l\u2019itinerario con attenzione.<\/p>

Un\u2019affascinante traversata da nord a sud dedicata ai grandi spazi della Cordillera Andina e della Patagonia. Giunto a El Calafate, ammirer\u00f2 lo spettacolo offerto dai ghiacciai Upsala, Onelli e Spegazzini con la gita in catamarano sul Lago Argentino. E ancora mi stupir\u00f2 davanti al pi\u00f9 famoso Perito Moreno, quando palazzi di ghiaccio alti fino a 60 m. cadranno rovinosamente nelle acque antartiche.\u00a0<\/p>

Continuando a sud, lascer\u00f2 la Ruta 40 rientrando in Cile da Cancha Carrera per entrare al Parco Nazionale Torres del Paine. Gli aggettivi sono scarsi per decantarne la bellezza: dalle bianche torri granitiche agli aguzzi cuernos che avviciner\u00f2 in qualche escursione. Poi il lago Pehoe fino all’omonimo rifugio, da cui, con una breve sgambata sar\u00f2 al mirador dell’impressionante ghiacciaio Gray con gli iceberg a portata di mano… Lasciato il parco, popolato fra l’altro da numerosi gruppi di guanachi, arcigni caranchos, nandu e qualche condor, proseguir\u00f2 per P.to Natales e Punta Arenas, trovando anche il tempo per una sosta alla Cueva del Milodon.\u00a0<\/p>

Da Punta Arenas, traghetter\u00f2 lo Stretto di Magellano, diretto a Porvenir. Rientrer\u00f2 in Argentina alla localita S. Sebastian, attraversando l’lsla Grande del Fuego fino a Rio Grande. Passer\u00f2 dal Lago Fagnano e ancora salir\u00f2 al Paso Garibaldi prima di scorgere la baia di Ushuaia, la citt\u00e0 piu meridionale del mondo. Immancabile l’escursione in barca sul canale di Beagle per ammirare le colonie di otarie e cormorani sparsi in varie isolette… e chiss\u00e0… con qualche giusta coincidenza… si spera di poter mettere piede anche nel continente Antartico, presso qualche base avanzata.<\/p>

CAPO HORN<\/strong>
Le coste occidentali della Terra del Fuoco si sgranano in numerose isole, tra le quali serpeggiano canali misteriosi che vanno a perdersi laggi\u00f9, alla fine del mondo, nella \u00abTomba del Diavolo<\/em>\u00bb. I marinai d’ogni latitudine assicurano che l\u00e0, a un miglio da quel tragico promontorio, testimone dell’incessante duello tra i due pi\u00f9 vasti oceani del mondo a Capo Horn, il Diavolo \u00e8 rimasto ancorato a un paio di tonnellate di catene, che lui trascina facendo gemere i ceppi sul fondo del mare nelle orride notti di tempesta, quando le acque e le ombre oscure dal cielo sembrano salire e scendere su quegli abissi. Fino a pochi anni fa, in quelle regioni si avventuravano soltanto audaci cacciatori di lontre e foche, genti di razze diverse, uomini rudi che avevano il cuore chiuso e stretto come i loro pugni. Alcuni sono rimasti incatenati a quelle isole per tutta la vita. Altri, spinti dalla frusta della fame che sembra farli vagare da oriente a occidente, arrivano ogni tanto in quelle terre inospitali, dove ben presto il vento e la neve scolpiscono la loro anima a colpi d’ascia, lasciandola dura e affilata come una stalattite di ghiaccio.<\/p>
